And now it all becomes clear to what that looks like to a bass. Looks just like a minnow foraging on the bottom.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

That video, if posted 6 months ago, would have eliminated 5 months and 29 days worth of skepticism.

Good stuff !

Thanks Wrench. It sort of lines everything up. Should have thought of it in 2013, but have to admit it just did not occur to me.

Thank you very much for this and other informative posts.

As someone who finds grandchildren, their horses, church .... becoming more of a priority, and fishing much less, this is a great forum to visit and learn and see that there are still fish being caught.

I watched my Ned rig falling in clear water with a little current and it had a slow spiral down with some random glides thrown in. It would hit bottom and quiver before falling over or leaning. I can see why it pulls fish in.

Great work, Dave!

I guess I never realized how much natural swimming action this bait has?

That would explain the bites I get when I'm reeling it up to the boat.

It also proves to all of us how important a shorter hook is!

Thanks Don. There is a ton of inherent action in the elaztech baits, especially as they get softer from use. That is why it is so easy to overwork them. Have to dial it back a bit.

Working to finish cleaning up and editing another installment that shows the "swim and shake" retrieve Ned writes about, at least as I do it. Or at least as I do it in a resort pool, which ends up being much faster due to the confining space.

That is the basic deal for any time they do not want it on the bottom, when they are super shallow, small lakes, or swimming it for chasers or suspended fish.

Cool, I'm anxious to see that. I need to work on the swimming part of my Ned game, pretty much been bottom contact fishing for me.

Another thing to note,

Dave's jigheads standup without any help, adding zman's elaztech only makes it stand up better.

This video helped me "visualize" my bait yesterday in 20ft of water.
