merc1997 Bo Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 hey, my mom still chews on my butt all the time. i am used to it, lol. i have only had a good laugh, and i appreciate the great information that is shared here. it is really amazing at the different ways that bass can be caught on TR. if everyone is paying attention, you can certainly improve your catching adapting to methods you have not ever tried before. i have picked up some great pointers from the light liners, and i appreciate the info. bo

Terrierman Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 The internet is a good place to enlighten fishermen like Bo. And you to Terrierman. Please explain what you feel I need to be enlightened about. I pretty much know it all already. Just ask my wife. Chief Grey Bear and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
ollie Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 ok, I don't always agree with Chief, but I thought his comment wasn't out of line. I thought he was just pointing out what you shouldn't do when you hold a fish. Yes, you can do what you want and that fish probably was ok after you let it go, but personally I would have used better judgment when holding it up for a pic. JMO. He just loves the smallies too much! shhh, don't tell anyone. Thanks for sharing as well. Ham Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Don't feed the troll. If you have people that repeatedly stir the pot and de-rail threads, perhaps you should just add them to your ignore list and maybe EVENTUALLY the troll will move on and play their internet games some other place. It stands to reason that if the same few people are always starting crap that they start crap because they enjoy it. Carry on. Champ188 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Chief Grey Bear Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I'll be the first to admit that this tread went in a direction that I was not intending. I congratulated him multiple times on the fish and gave a thumbs up on the report. This was not the first time that a member of this forum has acknowledged to a poster that the way in which they are holding a fish can and does do harm to the fish. This is though the first time that the person posting the reference to the less than desirable handling has been dog piled and piled on by those that have admonished fellow members for the exact same circumstance. I will not apologize for mentioning what many think is an inferior method of handling a fish, especially of that size. And I will not go back on my standards of handling fish. Back in my younger days I held fish just like that. Until somebody pointed out to me how stressful it is to the fish. It made perfect sense to me and I changed my habits. I certainly didn't attack the person who was offering a better way of doing the same thing. Call it trolling if you must or nit picking or any other assorted terms you can think of. I highly doubt a troll would have added some insight on less stressful tactics. ness Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Long-time members would know that I'd be the FIRST one to call Chief an a-hole. But this has turned into a dog pile, even though his point WAS legitimate. This Table Rock forum sure has its own special feel Chief Grey Bear and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 John
