Those fried gills bring back memories of my childhood.  Scaling, gutting and beheading, a quick rinse and into the cornmeal/flour mix and a swim in hot grease.  Crispy tails and fins were good.  Thanks for the pic.

Same here😊

Bluegill tonight. My fav fish!

Cast iron skillet and some oil, flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper.

Man I love that!   I fried farm raised cat tonight.  Green and red Tabasco and some frozen fries.   And beer.   I always cook it in the garage so it doesn’t “linger”😁

                       Chili revisited,

Back in December member @Gavin shared a chili recipe with all of us. It was a big batch and good. When I get these large batches of things I vac seal leftovers in individual servings for a quick meal. I freeze in a container and when it is frozen pop it out and vac seal. Lasts a long time with out freezer burn. So I was looking in the freezer for something for my lunch. Rainy and 58 outside I spotted the chili and grabbed a package,thumbnail_0422201308.jpg     Thawed and heated up. Took a potato/vegetable peeler and did some thin slices of sharp cheddar smoked cheese to top it off. Tasted just like I remembered and downed it with a couple glasses of milk,thumbnail_0422201250.jpg

      Thanks again Gavin!

I get that it sounds weird but Chili and milk work some how some way.

I fry fish on the patio for that same reason.  Looks good.  If it's white it's right.  I've cooked some really good swai.  As white as typing paper.  Red line even faint one, watch out.

Well I guess tacos and sour cream are their first cousins.

I don’t do talipia or swai.  USA or nothing.

Who doesn't like chips and salsa and sour cream?

OK then no swai for you.  Tilapia no way.  Based on experience.  Swai OK again, based on experience.  But, it's been a good while since I've cooked any fish that I didn't catch myself.
