Ya know I’m not even talking about Ramsey’s personality and screaming. I’m talking about his actual cooking ability. I think the guy couldn’t wash Jacques Pepin’s feet.  He seems a little too Bobby Flay/Giada De Laurentiis for me.

Nobody can worship ar Pepin's feet unless it is Morimoto. Flay is pedestrian. Gada has a nice chest. Brown cooks for the rest of us.

Picked up 4 pounds of nice, small, wax free cukes at Wally World today. 3 pounds in a brine with pepper corns, dill seed, dried dill, red pepper flakes and garlic. They’ll ferment for a few weeks and get sour.

Last pound went into Microwave bread and butter pickles. Sounds nuts I know but these are really tasty and easy. Onion, vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seed, celery seed and turmeric. 7 minutes.

I am going to follow up with the recipe for the microwave bread and butter pickles Ness posted here. I found the recipe he used and made a couple jars for myself. Easy as it can be. I put in a serrano pepper in mine. My batch is not so pretty as the skin on my cucumbers is pale. Smells good as you are making them.

Hah! Didn't realize that was on the video. I do remember writing that review.

I like the Serrano idea.

I do enjoy Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Sure,

Have you been to any of the featured restaurants? I've been to a couple. I like the Shaved Duck in St Louis best out of the ones we have tried!

A few. They did a show on Johnny's BBQ, which is in the next suburb over from me. If I had ever known about it I had forgotten it. Really good stuff and has become my go-to for BBQ. I asked the waitress if being on DDD made a difference and she said it was phenomenal for business. Johnny retired this year and closed that location, but there's another in Olathe run by his son. Met @Mitch f there for lunch once.

I flat love baking and cooking in pieces of history.   A batch of zucchini Gems just came out of the oven I posted in the cast iron thread a recent gate marked find I rescued. It and another gate marked piece got a work out. Neat to think something that could be from the mid 1800s to 1900s is still being used.

Besides grated zucchini there is craisins and native pecans in them.
