Let me explain this to you.  I have a job......

So far the goals my boss set for me were confirmed as being "Well done" for this year and he's only paid me out through September.  He hasn't even seen the rest of the year yet.  So I'd say I've done pretty well on the goals department.  I'll be having another steak for dinner thank you very much....

Nothing was implied as a dig to anyone at all here and if you took it that way, I am sorry.  What I was talking about can be as simple as planting lettuce seed in a flower pot. There are things that take a few seconds to reap rewards. I have the means to rely on stores and such easy but enjoy what I can do for myself. Again, to get worked up on what you may have thought I was implying was not needed.

Congrats for doing such a fine job and being recognized for doing so. Makes a guy or gal feel wanted and needed. We need a boost like that from time to time.

Turkey leftovers. Pieces of meat, a little of chicken stock, diced onions, celery, and carrots. Wrapped in puff pastry. Homemade hotpockets😁.

Trying to clean out the freezer. So pulled out a venison shoulder roast from last year's deer.

Braised in beef stock, porcini powder, pinot noir, whole crushed garlic, carrots, celery, and onion. Seared the outside of roast at lunch.ivie put it in 325 deg oven around three. Pulled out roast at 6 pm. Really tender.

Served with boiled brussel sprouts and a parsnip puree (cooked in chicken stock) with a little honey and a little bit of cream.

Looks absolutely delicious, but I have no clue what those items are, and wouldn't know how to pronounce them so I could ask the gals at the grocery store.  🤷

Porcini is a delicious mushroom. The powder is the dried mushroom. I use it to add a strong mushroom flavor.

Pinot noir is a full body red wine. I added about a cup to get mushroom and beef stock mixture.

Parsnips are the white carrots that you may find in your local stores. I cooked them in the chicken stock until they were soft then blended them until creamy. Since they were slightly bitter I added a tablespoon of honey and just a bit of cream to make them a little richer.

pinot noir = pno nware     Literal translation is black pine cone. Named that because of the grape color and the way the fruit bunches look. Good ones make great steak wines.

puree = pure-a     Made by whipping well cooked vegetables or fruit in their own or added juices. Basically the same thing a Gerber baby food without the additives. I love them, especially parsnip and turnip.
