Overnight steel-cut oatmeal, with splurges

We eat oatmeal for late dinner all the time. Quick oats. Our goodies are crasins, native pecans and brown sugar.

I've got a few craisins in there too. Good addition!

Fresh Market Chicken Cordon Bleu (ok) with cheesy asparagus risotto.

When we lived at Holiday Island, from time to time we would. drive to Shell Knob to shop at the Harter House. They made excellent Chicken Kiev, Chicken Cordon Blue, and Chicken Oscar rolls. I can make any of those, but they are tedious and once in a while I want a break.

There is nothing wrong with hitting the easy button. Randy if you cooked all the time like you do there would be no time for other pleasures. Good things come in all forms.

Try this with your cast iron pizzas. Yours look great, but this will take it up a notch.

Leave that nasty corn meal or whatever else out of it. Grease your skillets and make your pizzas. Once they are made, slide them out of the skillet. Grease it again and put it in the over to preheat. Once they are good and hot, pull them out of the oven and carefully slide the pizza back in the skillet. You should hear the dough sizzling. Then pop them back in the oven to finish.

Sounds like a great idea.   And thanks for the compliment/acknowledgement.    I feel pretty special getting tips from PeppeRonnie.  LOL.  Honestly,  I was kinda curious on your thoughts.

My initial thought was, dam that looks good!

I’ve been hearing good things about the frozen pizza dough at ALDIs. Making your own is easy too. I just never had any luck with those packs. They never looked as good as yours.

But no matter what crust you use it’s going to taste amazing when you basically fry it. You are probably going to smoke up the kitchen a time or two getting that down, but it’s delicious. Once you figure that out try one of those little tubs of garlic spread to grease your skillet. Word of warning though. They only make waders up to a certain size. Then you just don’t fit anymore. LOL.

I need to stop by that place next time I am in the neighborhood.  I like a good Cordon Blue
