Saw some at the grocery store the other day.  Didn't buy any, mainly because I don't think I have ever gotten a good peach at a grocery store.  I admit to being real picky with peaches, but I do like ones that are homegrown and picked when ripe.

I'm with you.  This little place grows them in the bottoms by the river.   Stupid good peaches.

Peaches and maters, the difference between what you buy in the store and picked right off the plant are worlds apart.  Over ripe peaches are one of my kryptonite foods.  You could bait a giant steel trap with them, post signs around it, and it would still catch me trying to get to them.  Sadly the dang Japanese beetles have gang raped my peaches.  I am going to have to get a jug of malthion, as much as I hate that stuff, before there is nothing left of my orchard, and wifes roses.

I think Pyrethrin gets them and it is safe to use around food products.  Liquid Sevin knocks them quick but you can't eat what you treat. 

Treat the soil with Nematodes to kill the larva to prevent next years hatch.

I grilled the walleye I caught today on an oiled cast iron grill pan. I served it over a bean, cucumber, tomato salad with mint and lemon.

Did a stir fry with chicken and beef. Vegetables included carrot, zucchini, onion, green pepper, ginger, wild collected oyster, chanterelle, and indigo milky cap mushrooms and store bought enoki mushrooms. I picked up the enoki before we collected more chanterelles and the indigo milky mushrooms yesterday. I had those mushrooms so I used them. While cooking, I was really wishing that I had the Billet-o-matic super wok to superheat and cook this meal. Still I made due.

That is the home made alfredo sauce that goes under the other goodies. But then, you knew that.
