Maplewood

They're new to STL, at least I'm pretty sure. Their fried okra is great too!

One in Maplewood, have not tried. Prefer pan fried to deep fried chicken, but requires two days and some prep. Brine it, butter milk soak, season, bread, then fry about 12 a side in iron cookware.

I started a cassoulet this morning. In another hour or two it will be done and will go to hold status until dinner.

    Candy making day,

Well actually not making candy but reconfiguration of the ingredients. Turtles consisted of mini pretzels. These were laid out on a baking sheet. On the pretzel was put a rolo. Heated until it got soft and then a native pecan was  squashed on top.
