What's Cooking?

     Went to town for business and on the way home we slipped into the sweet corn patch for this next treat. Since the BLT was at five thirty this morning we did an early lunch. This dish is called Mague Choux . The lady that we seen making it on the Boob Tube this morning said it was like eating corn candy. I thought so too but it has a hot creole bite too,

   Has corn, bacon, peppers and tomatoes. Everything cooked in one skillet a step at a time.

Gotta look that one up.

         Thought since we ate three meals today we would do a lighter one this evening. We generally only eat two meals a day. So we did Grilled Bok Choy "wedge" with blue cheese-buttermilk dressing. Title says it all. We made the dressing according to the instructions for the dish. Used wild fire blue cheese so there was a hot bite to the dressing,

Made grandma Vi's pancakes this morning. Away from home and using unfamiliar electric stove, crappy utensils and cookware. Had to mix the batter in a saucepan with a slotted spoon. But 4 out of 9 made it to the plate ( the rest went down the disposal). Cooked in a small skillet one at a time and flipped with a fork as no spatula was available.

With the Folly family heading in different directions left me all alone. So just made a toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a Bur Oak Creme de la Hops microbrew. A mix if an IPA and a creme ale. Not bad.

        Beer and cheese!  Bet the rest of the Folly's are glad hey are gone as that looks like fart city

Just me and the dog passing gas☺! Should be a good night. I'm watching No country for old men. Haven't seen it before friendo! Not a family movie so far. Don't think it will change much.

That sammich looks good but the beer is a combo of 2 things that don't do it for me cream soda and IPA.  I made do tonight with some sliced maters.  Are finally starting to produce well, absolutely no comparison between the best store tomato and a warm brandy wine hot off the vine.
