rps Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Nancy has traveled to Iowa. She has inherited a portion of the family farm that was homesteaded over a hundred years ago. There will be a recognition ceremony at the Iowa state fair. The press interviewed the family today and took pictures. Meanwhile, I am home and on kennel help duty. In Nancy's absence, the Corgis are dancing to the Beastie Boys. Something about their right to party. The Corgis just told me they wanted meat, real meat, for their appetites. As they did so, they did shots. Chicken broth shooters, straight. No weak sister umbrella drinks for them. At their urging, I burnt some meat tonight. Tenderloin fillet, potatoes, and broccoli rabe with a sriracha Worcestershire compound butter. ness, nomolites, Flysmallie and 2 others 4 1
ness Posted August 16, 2019 Author Posted August 16, 2019 Felt like Chinese so I decided on a Szechuan chicken with a slightly spicy sauce with plenty of garlic, thinly sliced chicken and instead of water chestnuts there’s some jicama. Kathy likes it a little less spicy so it was chicken with snow peas in a Chinese white sauce. It ain’t Chinese without some crab Rangoon, right? Nice steamed rice too. Dang!! Enough for leftovers too! BilletHead, rps and snagged in outlet 3 3 John
MOPanfisher Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 I have been going to Spfld to dr. Then to KC for Dr's so have had much chance to actually xook, good thing I actually like hamburger helper! Did pickup a new grill and after seasoning I put some thich slices of zucchini slathered with garlic and butter on it, forgot how much I liked them. Wife is planning a shepard pie for tomorrow night. Most of them I have eaten have been pretry bland but whatever recipe she uses or however she modifies it is pretty good. I did get to have one of my favorites too big ole pot of elbow macaroni with tomatoes, fresh ones. Not sure why I like it so much except that we had it a lot when I was a kid. I add chopped up ham toine to make it better. snagged in outlet 3 1

Gavin Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Had 6 trout fillets left from Rockbridge. Grilling 2 for dinner, smoking 4. No recipe for smoked fish, but add salt until the brine will float a fresh egg, add spice. Don’t let it brine more than 4-8 hrs. ness and snagged in outlet 3 2
