I've found stuff that looks closer by Googling Chinese clear sauce. Similar to lobster sauce without the egg white.

My wife and daughter have gone to St. LOurs for a concert and left me alone with grandson and my mom.  She also left a wonderful meatloaf from last night.  So what goes with reheated slices of meat loaf?  Yep fried taters and onions.  Found a thing of beef broth and am making gravy to go with it because GRAVY!.  Add a handfull of green stuff from the bag o salad and boom supper is in the works.  If it looks good maybe I can get a photo, if not, well no pic it never happened.

Well pic added, you won't see this plate in many resurants, but if you do, make sure you don't mouth off or some big ole gal will come out of he kitchen and drag out out by you ear.  So just settle back and ask for a slice of apple pie.  Dang I wish I had some apple pie!

Well, we are about to have a Chinese Hot Pot...consisting of seafood, (including a couple of spotted bass...heads and all, who are about to take a spice bath), beef, lamb, veggies. There is quite a bit of noise that goes with this meal! 😂. Which includes Chinese talk and lips smacking.

It’s water with a pack of spicy herbs added on one side, the non spicy side is basically bone broth soup.

This is pretty cool.
 

I see, I think, some really good looking thin sliced beef, squid, couple kinds of mushrooms, cabbage, shrimp. Can’t overlook the bass. What am I missing? 

How does the meal go? Any customs, order, whatever?

That looks awesome Mitch. Made some White bean, Italian Sausage, Spinach soup this AM...Its very good but not great. Gonna do some cream of crab  with jumbo claw and back fin meat this afternoon. Testing recipes for the annual family soup party/competition the Saturday before Halloween.

If you are picking the crab from the shell yourself, save the shell and be sure you cook it in the soup to add more flavor.
