I see, I think, some really good looking thin sliced beef, squid, couple kinds of mushrooms, cabbage, shrimp. Can’t overlook the bass. What am I missing? How does the meal go? Any customs, order, whatever? The bass were an afterthought, I caught a couple that day and brought them home with virtually no time to prepare them. However, the Chinese always keep the bones in the fish. These bass were scaled and chopped up and rinsed only. The dad dunked the bass parts in the spicy side and let them boil for 10 minutes or so. He commented that he wants me to go catch more because they were so good. I never eat the bass when they cook them. Gavin and ness 2 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Made some White bean, Italian Sausage, Spinach soup this AM...Its very good but not great. Gonna do some cream of crab with jumbo claw and back fin meat this afternoon. Testing recipes for the annual family soup party/competition the Saturday before Halloween. Proper gumbo is always a competitor. And often a winner at least for me because I like spicy. Just a thought. Gavin 1

Gavin Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Gumbo won’t win with this crowd, neither will Turtle Soup with real turtle meat. More of a French Onion bland and boring flavor profile prevails. Usually place, but the old yenta’s with mild taste buds usually vote for crap that tastes like Campbell’s from a can. Might give them some! Less effort! Mitch f 1
ness Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 We had a chili contest in our loan department a couple years ago. Guy that won had gone to Wendy’s and bought a gallon. 😄 Foghorn, Gavin and Mitch f 3 John

Too much water and they crack, too little and their skin is leathery. We were sick of them by the end of July 😄 Sun gold Mitch f 1 John
