Last couple nights was God eats, nothing overly exciting or photo worthy.  Last night was some pan seared salmon to ight was a grilled pork loin.  Sides and sauces were the more interesting.  For the salmon I wanted to make a sauce and started with mayonnaise with some horseradish, garlic and lemon.  Wasn't bad but didn't hit the right note.  Second attempt was soy sauce with a lot of ginger from a squeeze bottle my wife had and some garloc powder.  Now that one really  worked well.  So for the pork loin I also grilled a couple Portabellas and made a new sauce of soy, teriyaki, ginger, garlic and a little coca cola to lighten it up a bit, dang it was perfect for the pork. Maybe I will make some if my wife whacks a deer, bet it would be good brushed on a tenderloin and grilled too.

I find it hard to get good quality snap peas. They usually look like they've got leprosy.

Yes, but I scored a good package at Sams.

Nicely cooked strip steak!  The rest looks quite tasty as well.

Did you sous vide and pan sear that? Looks perfectly rare.

Yes, I did, and thank you.

Sous vide 1.5 hours at 123 with a quick cast iron sear for the above.

Tell me you had seconds!   I'd die of starvation on that serving size.:)

Nancy and I usually split one large strip steak. We had seconds of the casserole.

I don't know about you guys but I get so hungry when it gets cold.  I could eat two steaks and still walk away hungry.
