Snagged, Im craving a Gioia's  salami sandwich! I used to work  in st. Louis long time ago , ate there 3x a week

Oh yeah!  They opened a second location in West county but...…..They are only open till 4 PM.  If they were open at dinner time it would be game on once a week at least.

My aunt Mary used to live next door to The Hill location.

We had our annual friends Christmas/Thanksgiving party this weekend. I was put in charge of appetizers, and helped my wife with the green bean casserole and deviled eggs.

I made a pair of crostinis-

Made crisps with a french baguette and had two variations

1. Parsnip and shallot puree base, a couple slices of med rare seared duck breast, blackberry preserves, and topped with some rosemary.
2. Honey whipped goat cheese, shaved radish and arugula, seared duck breast and topped with pickled mustard seeds
Both turned out fantastic and a bunch of people who claimed they didn't like duck were going back for extras.

Wife did the standard deviled eggs, and green bean casserole from scratch with mushrooms instead of the standard kind with cream of mushroom soup.

Will definitely be doing those apps again!

Those sound wonderful! I like tasty and creative foods. (Other than beef liver, bananas, and sea cucumber)

Dang you boys have been busy!!! This thread just won't die and it shouldn't!

Heres my meek contribution. A simple bacon wrapped grilled cheese. I made them many times with some crispy, fried bacon on the inside, but this time I put the crispy bacon on the outside.

I've always loved a turkey injected and done on the smoker.  But there's only two of us and turkey gets a little boring after the third day.  So, I finally got smart and decided to inject a CHICKEN!  I'm hopeful and fairly confident it will be up there.  Just getting it started.

I had a hungry for some acorn squash too.  Had to hunt for any and they were small.  But they'll work.

My mom put a chunk of butter, a little  brown sugar and milk in em then bake with pumpkin spice sprinkled on top.

Those ones already have the butter and brown sugar.  No milk in the house but I will take the pumpkin pie spice tip and give it a whirl.  Thanks, sounds really good!

Post turkey day challenge. How many ways to use the left overs without getting bored. One way -> turkey potato and vegetable soup.
