gitnby Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I assume the Bassmaster Classic Final weigh-in Show was produced by Pee Wee Herman on acid? What a ridiculous, insulting-to-the-sport travesty! Champ188 1
Feathers and Fins Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Gotta agree, way to much dead time and lousy camera... You would think ESPN would have it live with great cameras and no dead time. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Donna G Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Roman bread and circuses - A phrase used by a Roman writer ... “Two things only the people anxiously desire — bread and circuses.” The government kept the Roman populace happy by distributing free food and staging huge spectacles. Many people are likely there for the show and the freebies. How many true lovers of bass or the sport of bass fishing do you think are at the show? This is about drawing big crowds and marketing product. I enjoy watching the actual weigh-in and listening to the pros (live coverage is great, too), but the rest of it is over the top, in my opinion. Each to his own, I guess, but not my cup of tea. Dewayne French and Champ188 2 Donna Gilzow Bella Vista, Arkansas The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. --John Buchan, 1915
kjackson Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 My wife said that if Mercer called the trophy a "bad boy" again, she was going to shoot the TV. There was way too much dead air filled in by the emcees asking people to scream. And what did that movie montage, played small, have to do with bass fishing? Did I miss the intro? Donna G 1

You and your wife are welcome to come watch TV at our house anytime. We'd get along great, although sounds like we may need a new TV before the evening is over. kjackson 1
Bill Babler Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Really somewhat of an embarrassment. 4 hrs. and over 100 "Lets get Loud and Are you Ready" Just about the most unprofessional production that could ever be put together. I really don't think you could plan and make it that bad. It is a total shame. They really need to hire a professional producer to handle this. For cripes sakes the attendance was announced for the derby at over 100 grr. Happy as a tick in a dog pound for Ashley, but that production with the money available to them is completely unwatchable. Quillback Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 They've really messed up the whole weigh-in deal. I caught it just at the end when they weighed in Omori. Only reason I saw that was because I thought it was over and went to the web site to see who won. The weigh-ins are the worse part of the whole deal, they really need to fix it.
Bluff-Bassin Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I thought the on the water coverage was the best it's ever been tho Seth, Champ188 and Donna G 3
Seth Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I thought the on the water coverage was the best it's ever been tho I enjoyed that as well. It sucks they cut it off early to set up for the weigh in feed though since there was usually an afternoon flurry of bites that they missed.
