I was at an out of the way spot, only car there on a holiday weekend . While wading, I hear someone coming thru the woods, and then hear two voices. One says oh, ****, the other that mfer is in our spot. I turn to look and all I see is the back of someone disappearing back in the woods. I think jeez, they could have went up or downstream a bit and fished but whatever. I fish for about 10 more minutes and head to another spot.

I get back to the car and find the mirror on the drivers side just hanging by the wires. I make a quick check, no other damage. I figure it might have been pay back for being in their spot or some random fool who gets off on doing crap like that .

Either way , I just don't get it .

Duct taped in back in place to get around the rest of the day . not pretty but it held

what a long strange trip it's been , put a dip in your hip, a glide in your stride and come on to the mother ship , the learning never ends

That sucks.

I try not ot worry about it, but it is always a possibility that our vehicles will be vandalised when parked in remote areas. I've been lucky up to this point.

No reason for it at all. None of your behavior was wrong or inappropriate in any way and nothing justifies damaging someone's else's property.

In todays troubled times, we may have to keep an "eye" out at all times, even while not around our vehicles. One way is to place a camera, like a GoPro that will record at length, placed inside the vehicle looking outward, while we fish, hunt, trap, etc. Prefer it to be placed facing in a direction that would get license plates. At my house, i have a system setup that i can turn on/off, watch live, and watch recorded data all from my phone. Yep, video security systems on our vehicles will be the "new" gadget soon.

I defintely agre with this. It's already a huge deal overseas and I've often thought about doing it to my vehicles because I park in remote areas very often and am always concerned about this type of stuff happening. At least all you got was a broken mirror and they didn't break windows or steal. I'm sure one of them was acting cool and showing off. And the other one was probably thinking my buddy is an idiot. Hopefully the fishing spot was a good one and you at least caught a few fish.

Then he'd have come back to a car with a busted out window and a missing GoPro :D
