Guess the "tourists" should just stay home and spend there money elsewhere.

Nope, and I am one. Folks just need to understand how that kind of thing goes over. Not well usually.

Not really - almost every walleye fisherman I know on TR keeps the legal walleye they catch. And AGFC stocks walleye fingerlings into the lake.

quill, stocked or not, the point is if the walleye are released just as most everyone wants done with bass, then the walleye population would increase dramatically in a shorter period of time. same can be said for crappie. moderation by everyone, on all species, can go a long way.

there are to many boats up the flat creek and James River at spawn time. to many fish taken. They should shut flat creek from April 5th thru the 25th, rough spawn time to easy to catch. Also the James from point 15 on up. Make it a little harder to catch and we would all enjoy much larger crappies and more of them,

I don't disagree with that, but walleye fishermen tend to keep the keeper walleye, at least in TR. And I don't have a problem with that, but what I am pointing out, is that it is what they do, most bass fishermen release their bass, it's what they do.

And walleye fishermen, for the most part, don't have a problem with keeping walleye, it's a different mindset than bass fishermen, and, I'm not condemning one group or the other.

There was a discussion on the Beaver forum about keeping walleye, everyone, including the AGFC biologist, seemed to think it was fine to keep every legal walleye you could catch. I don't have a problem with that, but I would not want to see every bass fisherman (and all others) keep every legal bass they could keep.

That is when ethics have to guide decision making. The choice always exists.

Obviously the pike is not specific to the discussion, we don't have them, but it highlights the selective harvest concept.

Although I respect your ethics, mine are different. Placing a blanket ethical judgement on a choice of what to keep or not isn't my place, nor yours. No matter the species. I understand your beliefs in selective harvest and practice the same methods most of the time. Not everyone that wets a line has that luxury.

My business would appreciate it if all of you would start having more automobile collisions. Nothing major, don't want anyone hurt and a totaled vehicle does nothing for me. Just some good whacks that require a body shop. Thanks for your help.

Well funeral homes would benefit greatly if we all die. Sorry to hear you are in a business where you make money off other people's misfortune. There's a heck of a difference between that and the fishing business.

If we all died how would the funeral homes benefit? They're all dead...

HAHA, I think you know what I mean, but for clarity let's say just 20% in the next year.
