MSHP report says one vehicle accident around 3 a.m. ran off road and overturned. I am glad I get to have my 14 month old grandson over tonight, rocking him to sleep right now sometimes things make you feel very "mortal".

OK thanks. I know his mom just recently passed on, so this is gonna hit his family extra hard.

Wow, how sad. Jim will be missed here and I'm sure so much more so by his family. Sadly, I never got to meet him. He sent me a PM with some unsolicited advice on spots for summer walleye a couple of weeks ago. I printed it off to keep in my boat, so I'll be thinking of him for years to come as I utilize his information each summer. Thanks Jim. Prayers to your family.

Me and Jim fished many tournaments together and this news has hit me hard. He was not just a friend but a Brother. His friends will miss him and those that didn't get a chance to know him will forever be at a loss. He had a heart as big as they come. He loved to fish and his dogs. I meet Jim down at Pappy Rays. He was looking for a partner to fish the winter series with. From there we became brothers and fished tournments together whenever we could work it out with my work schedule. I set here and think about our phone call yesterday when he Butt dialed me. I know he is in a better place tonight but that doesn't help with the pain right now. To my brother fish hard up there and we will see you again one day on the water, where we can laugh and joke around while we rush from spot to spot in search of the big one..

Sorry to hear this. He will be missed on this forum. He had a wealth of fishing information that he always seemed glad to pass along. Although I never met him, I will miss him. RIP Jim.

Like some of you, I got to know Jim in person and on this forum. As i just re-read our PM's from this week, it puts a heavy load on my heart knowing in 7 hours we were going to meet up at the lake for me to buy a rod off of him. Jim was a great guy that willingly helped those around him. He will be missed and thought of often, especially when i use the jigs he gave me.

On a side note, the report says he ran off the road, hit an embankment, over turned, and was ejected. This was on Hwy 174, 7 miles east of Mt Vernon at 3:00am.

Rest in peace brother Jim.

Very tragic and sad. His topics were always friendly and helpful. I enjoyed reading them. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
