Old plug Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 AL I personally do not give a good rats a-- what anybody carries. I see a lot of reason to be doing so. My thing is all about emotions. That is where things get out of hand. It is easy to make what appears to be a just decision because of emotions. Then winds up having to pay for it the rest of their lives. It happens. That is the reason I would not trust anyone carring a gun. And yes I sometimes carry a small pump shotgun loaded with slugs when I go to the St. Louis area . It has gotten so you can be shot at driving along.in just about any place in that area.
oneshot Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 You are both well beyond crazy. Nope they both know their rights as United States Citizens. oneshot

jdmidwest Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Batman has armor that defeats bullets, and all kinds of cool gadgets that have not even been invented yet to protect himself and others. But in the real world, a nice green tip bullet would put him down in a single stroke of the trigger. drew03cmc Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Provide your documentation to support your statement. Let's see the numbers and how they are reached. Something about lies, darn lies, and statistics comes to mind. I can tell you are not a student of history. Please take some time and study Germany circa 1938-45 and the Bolshevik revolution in Russia. In both cases governments were very effective in curtailing personal fire arms ownership. It is indeed possible and those that do not study and understand history do so at their own peril. As to the Middle East.....There will never be a sustainable peace in the region. Too many bad actors. It does not matter who is in the White House, Congress, or anywhere else. There will be some level of conflict for longer than our children's children will be alive. You are comparing a nation of firearm devotees to fascist dictatorships whose goals were to either take over the world, or take over their own nations. I love this aspect of the Gun Nuts' argument. When you show them the figures related to firearm homicide and they shrug their shoulders, but wish to keep simple plants illegal. I do not own firearms, but if I hunted, would own at least a rifle. Handguns serve no purpose in civilized society. Andy
jdmidwest Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 So, simply owning a gun makes someone a "gun nut"? Not owning a gun makes you a sheep, baaaa. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
fishinwrench Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 What do you call someone that owns 28 guns but has never (and probably will never) go hunting ? Just curious, cuz I call him a douchebag and when I hear that he is stopping by to visit I try to find somewhere else to go for awhile.
Terrierman Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Well, if he had 28 Colt Revolvers, or 28 Pennsylvania long rifles, or 28 Winchester model 12 pump shotguns or something like, (everybody gets my drift) I would call him a collector. Otherwise, you have a point.

When they are all pistols or pistol grip shotguns with the shell holder on the butt, yes, gun nut fits. Terrierman, exactly. Andy
