None of the Docs pointed any fingers at what caused it. First question was "do you smoke" followed by dip tobacco next. Of course alcohol use promotes oral cancer too. 

My only message would be to watch for changes in your body and keep on top of it.

1 year, 2 months, 3 weeks after surgery and day one of cancer free.  Went in for a checkup today, Doc stuck a finger in my mouth and felt around for lumps and said everything is still good.  Still cancer free and recovered.  As usual, he pulled over an intern and showed them what a good job he did.  Visits from now on will just be like today unless a lump or bump shows up somewhere.  Life is so very good.

10 years ago today, I was diagnosed with the cancer.

One little hiccup this year in Sept, new sore popped up behind the graft on tongue.  CT and biopsy was all clear, no cancer cells.
