Well if that is truly so effective, and since they aren't publishing any names anyway.....then why not just report all kinds of faux arrests on facebook and in the papers (in lots of county's)  as a mind control deterrent?

No fish need die to propagate that.

The names will likely be in the bolivar paper eventually.  False information would quickly fall through, but a legitimate bust will make a lasting impression, eight bass is a pretty cheap price for that sort exposure.

The reality is, the only way these guys were even busted was because the agents were out looking for deer hunting violations and just happen to stumble, and I mean stumble across these giggers. But thank you to the MDC for making a bust!!

I don't understand gigging...Seems like you waste a lot of the meat?  Those fish look like they were run over with a lawn mower.  Those are nice fish with half the meat ruined.  A sad waste.

Yeah, just imagine the gigging busts they could make if they specifically tried.

Ding ding ding ding winner winner chicken dinner. ....so very true Wrench. I commend these agents and the MDC for actually  making a bust!!!!...bravo zulu...well done. I almost cried out of pure joy when I read the story....BUT,

It just shows how rampant  the illegal gigging  is.....I know for a fact if I was given the authority and access to a River Pro I could make several busts in Franklin County, Reynolds County and Washington County....no problems  at all. The MDC going after illegal gigging is very similar  to the US going after ISIS. They know it's there and it's going on but they just don't seem to have the stomach to send in ready and willing people to take of the problem.
