The NED RIG! Nothing spectacular but it landed us a few fish around 11am this morning. Throwing near a dock in about 15 ft of water. Thanks for the tips guys! We would love to meet up sometime if you guys are ever fishing around Big Creek.

It sure is a "snag-y" lure but it produces. I need to invest in the weed guard hooks you suggested.

Nice fish and pics BassBlind. What head are you throwing your Ned on? Probably too heavy with no weed guard? Anything over 1/8oz or 3/16oz  is too heavy. It SHOULD be about the least "snaggy" bait you can throw. Like others said get in contact with Dave and will solve whatever "snaggy" issues you are having. It's not uncommon to fish an entire day with the same Ned Head Rig without losing it.

Yep, an open hook will make you crazy-go-nuts. Plus you can't put it in fun places.

Fun way to fish though, especially if it is tough. It's responsible for more bailouts than Washington, D.C.

It's gonna become really uncommon to do that on Bull. I had 3 more Zebra mussel breakoffs last Thursday. Bite, start to come tight, then nothing.

You just need to get a snorkel out and get to chiseling those boogers off your favorite rocks.

Nice fish.  It was just insanely tough for me today.  Launched at Cow at 11;30 and fished till 4;30, still in pursuit of the deep ones.  First location, I caught a very nice LM at 53 feet and they wormed up all around him.  Last fish there, just hard to believe.

Finely figured out to put the spoon down and use a drop shot with a Yamamoto Cut tail 4" purple worm.  Only had about a dozen total fish today and the first one was the biggest.  Blue Gil just wore me out clear out to 75 ft. Got bored with dangling my junk deep and threw a rig some and also a Rk, both with zero results.

Warmest temps of the day were 56.7 and coolest was 55.8.  Water is really clearing down here.  I measured using the white spoon test and I could still see it pretty easily at 15ft.  These cool nights are clearing the water.  Looking at the extended,  we may see close to 70 degree on Christmas.  That ought to really keep the confusion going.

Good Luck

here is what you need to fish your ned with fewer hangups, and better hook ups.

that hook looks pretty stout?

the ones from Dave might be lighter, thinner. but hard to tell from pic?

BTW, Dave's Ned heads are great!

I have one on a rod right now that's caught at least a couple of dozen fish over the past 3 -4 times out.

same head, same Ned! (oooh, new slogan?)

That 915 pool won't help the deep fishing either. Lot more water to swim and play in.
