Powerball is projected to be $675,000,000 Saturday night.

Assume that someone is the only winner, and they take lump sum:

Jackpot:  $675,000,000

Lump Sum (60%):  $405,000,000

Federal Taxes:  $160,380,000

State Taxes:  $28,350,000

Net lump sum: $216,270,000

The Fellas in my office are teasing me that "Joe would go buy a different V-21 from Legend for every day of the week".

I told them that if I suddenly came into $216 million, I'd absolutely buy a new V-21 - But I still wouldn't ever buy a $400 Roman Swimbait

Got me to thinking - Say you won the lottery, what would be your one ultra-wasteful, just for fun because now I can "thing" be? Donations, family help, church money, we'd all have our pet stuff to do. I am just curious as to how many different hair-brained ideas each of us have...

Mine is simple:

As I said, I'd buy a new V-21. As soon as it was finished, I'd take my current baby back to Legend, and ask them to remove the motor and refinish the entire boat: New gel coat, rub rails, seats, carpet - help her look brand new. When ready, I'd pick her up (without the motor) and carry her home, where she would be placed in the floor of my newly finished "Guy's Room".

Forevermore; anytime I watched a ball game, fishing show, etc. in the Guys' room, I'd be sitting in my all time favorite boat

I would buy "PC" and make it a private club for AO members and no double/triple deck'er boats or boats with a max person rating of more than 3......

That is a huge sum of money, and a person could certainly donate a large amount to charity, hand out some cash to family members, but still have a chunk of change leftover.

I'd buy a chunk of land where I could build my own lake and that lake would be at least 100 acres in size.  I'd build it so that it would be structurally the best largemouth habitat that it could be.

I would buy a chunk of land in South Dakota for my own private pheasant hunting reserve.  And build a lodge on it.

Certainly would be doing several exotic fishing trips a year, salmon fishing in Alaska, redfish in the gulf, etc.,

Pay off everything. House, Cars. Then donate them to charity.

Move to the beach and never look back.

I wouldn't quit my job, they will have to figure that out on their own.

Hometown tackle shop at TR, with no real concern about profitability. Just making the right baits available locally, and trying to help some folks catch fish.

I'd up my goal to 100 fish species in a year. I'd plan on catching a fish in every state in the USA.

I'd also get a passport and head to fish with the aussies for some Barra.

I'd give a lot of old fishing gear away and roll out some new bait casting stuff and some new spinning gear.

I'd get a half dozen more Tenkara rods. and a few really nice fly fishing reels for the flyrods I have.

Order a new Basscat Cougar FTD, a tricked outboard  jet rig. A Topwater Trout boat with a 40 HP jet. A ba rebones Supreme with a 10 HP for the Buffalo, a low profile drift boat with a second trailer, a War Eagl aluminum for catfishing the Mississippi and spider rigging crappie, and a pontoon for taking the wife sun bathing.

A 25 foot camper for fish camp.

I'd probably need a couple of new trucks to drag that stuff around. 1 ton for the travel trailer and a Tundra for the boats.

Try to fish 200 days a year.

It would just make everyones lives that much more worse off IMO, mo money mo problems or something like that...i would not be happier with that much money, much less so in fact.  Id venture to say most folks are the same.  All of my needs are met, and most of my wants are too.  The few desires remaining wont be achieved monetarily.  Time is a much more valuable commodity, and oddly enough, nobody will ever get any more, no matter what.  All the extra money would mean more obligations, which means less time to spend with your kids/grandkids....which in the whole scheme of things, there is nothing more valuable than spending the precious little time here with the ones we love the most.

I get 200 million freee and clear, I will have a LOT more time to fish even if I don't have any "extra" days on this side of the dirt.

I would concede that mo money CAN be mo problems, but I don't know that is an absolute.
