bfishn Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I've had the same dream since the 70's. Buy a functional sternwheeler, at least 80'. Invite all my drinkin' and fishin' buddies to accompany me on an adventure up the Mississippi as fur as we could go, then float 'er down to the Gulf before winter hit. We'd have a bus load of hoors chasing our groceries and sundries on shore at our beck and call. They could, like, meet us in Memphis with 50lb of iced gulf shrimp, come aboard and eat with us and such, swap us some clean laundry for dirty, and be gone in the morning to fetch more vittles and leave the men to more important business. Haven't met a man yet that didn't want to go. Blll 1 I can't dance like I used to.
Sore Thumbs Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I would want to be a minority owner of the Royals or Chiefs, Start my own fishing team to fish FLW. Bring family along to hang out and see the country while I'm fishing. Never work another day of my life and set my family up for generations.
luckycraft Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 can you buy the ozark anglers website? I like it a lot jolicious 1

I try to keep things in perspective. Honestly, I don't think I would have a "lavish" item. Years ago, I would have MANY but today, I think I would set my family up with a good cushion, move somewhere remote and do what I could to help my church and it's missionaries. I don't need $200million. Champ188, Lance34 and ness 3 Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

In the real world you would never get away with it. Other tackle shops are whatever would burn you out, shoot you, get all your suppliers to cut you off. They do not play fair with people undefcutting them. Well...that might need clarification. I definitely wouldn't be focused on giving them away. More just making sure they were available. Can't even buy dadgum Keitechs at TR. Things like JDM hard baits, swimbaits, functional selection of rods for guys who snap one. Hours for tmt guys on derby days (like being open at 4am). Coffee and ashtrays for the liar's table. That kind of capital would let you set up a great shop, stock it without sweating blood over inventory levels, etc.
Guest Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I've always wanted to ranch with a couple of lakes. Kinda like the Ray Scott setup. Build a couple small hatchery ponds on site for raising all the fish onsite. Then build a 30-50acre reservoir with mudflats & stumps for bass & bream. Build the other one steeper with boulders & pea gravel, stock it with fat head minnows, crawdads & smallmouth. Host annual derbies for little kids, veterans, & handicapped.
MOPanfisher Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Other than the normal paying stuff off, setting up college funds for kids and family, I would set up a kids fishing clinic of some kind. Any kid that wants to fish but doesn't have a dad, or dad doesnt have a boat etc. sign up we would provide kid and dad with fishing trips on whatever lakes in the area they wanted to try, if that meant paying guides to take them no worries have the money. Kids who like to fish need some tackle, send us a request, tackle be on the way. Finally I would open a small gun shop and hire someone to run it and be the gunsmith, prices would be same as everywhere else, but off to one side would be a BS room, sit drink coffee, tell your lies, and don't bother paying customers. I probably would keep my job since I kind of like it. dtrs5kprs and jolicious 2
M_Taylor Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Besides running as Trump's VP? I'd buy a forest, yes an entire forest. With a trout stream running through it. Then I'd buy a tropical island, with a huge freshwater lake full of peacock bass. Then I'd buy a mountain with a castle on the side of it. I'd need help running all the property. So I'd have to figure out a way to not get divorced while staffing my chalets, cabanas, and castles with Victoria's Secret Angels. Dan the fisherman 1
