Braved the cold Saturday for some Little Piney action. The water was still up a bit with and had some color in it. The stream had been moved around a bit and noticed a new tree across the river. A lot of the root wads were washed away. That aside my dad and I brought a few beauties to hand. My dad caught his first wild trout ever and fished the fiberglass 4 wt I built him for Xmas for the first time as well. Peacock soft hackles and olive mohair leeches for those keeping score. Cold but satisfying...

Great report! Wish I would have been there on saturday! looks like it was worth it!

I liked the action on the rod. A little bit faster than vintage glass but still a good flex in my opinion. Certainly slower than any new graphite.

That's sweet on many different levels. Good going, and thanks for the report.

Eventually, I will succumb to the allure of the glass flyrod. I have a strange desire to buy a Butter Stick.

Good times, good on ya'll!....and when you get to vintage bamboo you'll know you're hopeless.....

I'd rather live my entire life, living as if there is a God and Jesus and to find out at the end that there isn't, than to live my entire life as if there is no God and Jesus and to find out at the end that there is.

Phillips 7 footer or Boyd 6 foot work great for me on that creek!
