Yeah, gotta be scientific about this :).  (And by the way, there are three different species of chubs in the Ozarks, maybe more.)

I went out earlier in the year and seined some fish for my aquarium, does that count?  (Longer sunfish, green sunfish, central stoneroller, red-bellied dace, striped shiner, creek chub, and bleeding shiner).

I dreamed I was catching orange colored grayling the other night.

Whatever works for you Al. For me, I have to catch them on a hook and line via some type of fishing rod. ie for me, jug fishing and trout lines would not count.

This year has started out pretty diverse for me so far. It took me a few days to connect with anything in 2016, but when I went to Meramec Springs, the diversity jackpot hit. Not only was it 11 Fish I got, but they were a variety pack too. After that they've been piling on slower but still at a good pace.

So far as of March 8th, I got

Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Rock Bass, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Spotted Bass (latest new species of this year), White Crappie, Black Crappie, Common or Striped Shiner (thanks on ID Johnsfolly), some kind of Sunfish (best guess is Longear Sunfish). I think that would be it so far. But hope to add many more.

Curious , what is the largest number of different species on a single trip for those who keep track of their species ?

what a long strange trip it's been , put a dip in your hip, a glide in your stride and come on to the mother ship , the learning never ends

I struggle to properly ID suckers and chubs etc. I need to really try to get good photos of the suckers mouth, tail, and dorsal fins. I'm going to have to carry a bag or clear box to photograph the little guys in the water.
