Wiggle Wart Or Spro Rock Crawler?

I was thinking of picking up a few Rock crawlers but not sure if they are worth it? I think they go a little deeper than the wart.Or should I stay with the Warts? Just like to get your thoughts first?

You should stick to confidence lures when in doubt. I think warts are a mainstay Ozark waters. Just like red worms are a mainstay in Florida. Experimentation is the key with any water. Definitely buy a Rock crawler. Got to have at least one of everything right? The one thing that always works in any situation is a grub. I have grubs galore cause if you can't catch fish with a grub your not much of a fisherman.

Rock Crawler is a bit heavier and runs a bit deeper than the Wart.  Easier to cast, and make long casts with.  The fish like it.  Good hooks, usually runs true out of the box.

I've been using both- for me my (good) warts seem to be a little more erratic when they bounce off the bottom, but they really only go 8-9 feet down. The rock crawler is more like 10-11 feet. I switch back and forth pretty often, as the structure needs. I'm also more willing to throw a rock crawler into brush, just because I can replace them.

Quillback nailed it. That Rock Crawler is a fish-catching dude. I don't know the specifics behind WHY they eat it, but they do. Yes, the Wiggle Wart is a fish catcher, too.

I do know that Mike McClelland spent a lot of time getting the Rock Crawler prototypes the way he wanted them. They were released later than scheduled because he wasn't happy with the rattles. I'm glad he and Spro took the extra time because they sure got them right.

Only problem is the bills do tend to break off, so be careful about smashing them against rocks on your cast and don't slap them on the water to clear them of moss, leaves, etc.

If I had one color, it would be phantom brown. Second choice would be phantom green, and then spring craw.

Not to cloud the waters & complicate the issue but you may want to take a serious look @ Berkley's PIT BULL & WILD THANG. The WILD THANG will be closer to the ROCK CRAWLER as far as depth. The PIT BULL is closer to the WIGGLE WART as far as depth more of a shallow ( 6ft. - 8ft. ) running square bill. Both have an action ( HUNTING & DEFLECTING ) that I think you will find to be different than what we are use to & maybe just maybe that something new & different may make a difference. Also, both come in very good colors & are @ a good price point, few $$$ less than a ROCK CRAWLER, few $$$ more than a WIGGLE WART. Just my thoughts.

If I bought a new Rock Crawler today, would a get the new improved version that doesn't fill up with water and have these production issues fixed?

i am one of those that is not hung up on one brand of crank bait.  why?  because of different wiggle or vibration patterns.  true, warts and crawlers both will produce, but neither may be the best one to be throwing on any given day.  you will have to ask the bass why, but i have knocked them dead on a wart one day, and go the next, and can not draw one bite on a wart, but just slay them on a model a bomber.  the bomber has a much tighter wiggle than a wart.  i go with which crankbait is right for the particular day.  do you fish a jig or worm the same way all the time??  or with the same size sinker??  or the same size worm or other soft plastic??  the answer should be no to all questions.  different days it requires a different vibration pattern to trigger the most strikes.  crawlers and warts both will catch bass, but most likely one will produce better than the other one on different days.  i will always choose a crankbait with the right wiggle over color any day.
