Members Chris Musick Posted April 1, 2016 Members Posted April 1, 2016 Had to go fishing this mornin. Couldn't take t any longer. So I got to my crappie dock hoping to catch lunch (crappie or bass). So I rigged up minnows and put em to my depth on one pole and bass lures on the other. Cast the bass pole a few times and nothing. After about 5 minutes I hear my crappie pole. Reeled in a stupid sunfish. Then, every time my hook hit the water, another stupid sunfish. All morning this happened. Everything I put in the water got bit by one. Flicker shad, small hooks, big hooks...... I hate sun fish. No crappie, no bass. Fished from 730 to 1030. Stupid sun fish! Muddy Water 1
MOPanfisher Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 The sunfish are delicious by the way. If they are big enough to make a tater chip sized fillet or go old school and scale and fry whole. mjk86 1

If they were small, I'd hook one up to a 5/0 hook and toss it back out there a little deeper and hold on. I've had some big surprises in the past when doing that out of the same frustration you were having.

Hammer time Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 In my opinion nothing better eating than big gills even better than crappie and walleye. Codywskeeter1521 1
