abkeenan Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 'Skers should have hired Bielema. Or a coach anyone had heard of... The Huskers have been a mess (Yes I live in a Mizzou glass house and throw stones) since Tom Osborne left. When they fired Pelini I was perplexed as to why after a 9 win season. I didn't and don't have privy to behind the scenes communication between the Nebraska chancellor, A.D., and Pelini, staff, etc but he seemed like he at least was keeping them competitive and possibly moving upward. Kinda sad to see them as the laughing stock of the Big 10 and completely irrelevant.
vernon Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Or never fired Frank Solich. That one made as much sense as the firing that led to the game's modern college football abyss - Mangino and Kansas. Each has led to many millions wasted in subsequent buyout dollars for incompetent (or deemed unacceptable at Nebraska) replacements and still have no positive result. Pretty sure that I could win zero games and do it a lot cheaper. Talk about throwing stuff from a glass house! We don't even HAVE a house! Or anything to throw! cheesemaster, dtrs5kprs and abkeenan 3 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
cheesemaster Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 After Frank was let go (with like a 9-3 record, dumb move) Bill Callahan stepped in and killed the program. Bo got them winning again, but the alum hated him because he would not bow down to them. Bo was a competetive guy that wore his emotions on his shirt sleeve and took it out on some of the players. Parents and the alum didnt like it. I belive the Huskers will be playing for the BIG 10 title within the next 3 years. Go Huskers!!! dtrs5kprs 1

Harbaugh and Urban are going to own that deal for a decade. They're just better. My mom and father in law are both Neb alums. I grew up red. They lost me after Solich. He had his issues, but it was still rolling. My boy is all Oregon. I've seen a lot of Oreg St. Head scratcher. crazy4fishin and abkeenan 2

We had season tix then. Fun times. He was too threatening to basketball. Ham 1

Michigan and Ohio State are on the other side of the Big10. Nebraska just needs to beat the likes of Minnesota and Wisconsin to play for a title.
Quillback Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Nebraska's downfall started when they began converting corn to ethanol instead of feeding it to farm boys to turn them into "Big Uglies". Never been much of a Husker watcher, but back in their days of domination, they always seemed to have a powerful O-line. Another reason to hate ethanol. cheesemaster, abkeenan, dtrs5kprs and 2 others 5

I know. MSU is a bigger problem now. Heck, Bo played for several titles, two conferences. By Mizzou standards he should have a statue. (Sorry had to) cheesemaster and Quillback 2
