Great topic.  Here's the list of what's been mentioned for scents:

Berkley hand wash (to remove your stink)

Megastrike!

The JJ's Magic (works into the plastic)

KVD craw stick

Fish Formula

gulp in craw

PowerBait Bass formula

whiZkers, essence of crawdad

Smelly Jelly

Any favorites out there?

Serious note: I hesitated before adding to the list.  But, then thought of all the great folks that are always helpful to me, so of course I'd better 'fess up when I've got something GREAT to share:

Crazy good. I put two or three squirts in a bag before heading to the lake, and it's on. I don't know what all is in it, but I can assure you it works!

" Kick in Bass" smells so bad that I threw it away. I don't care if it would help me catch more fish, I will not have that stuff in my boat. It smells awful. It makes the Gulp oil smell like a breath mint.

I KNOW that Gulp is great for panfish and walleye. I've caught numerous bass on gulp stuff as well, but I have not seen real observable differences.

I have the KVD stiks. I started using the sporadically last year. so far., meh.

I have Megastrike gel. meh.

the Hog Tonic is very strong. I like Power Team Lures. I catch fish on them, but I don't know what part the Hop Tonic plays in that.

Blatant plug so delete if the admins feel like it, as it is my wife's company. These do work as well as anything I've ever seen to take smells off your hands, and because of all the "girly" type oils and stuff she uses, don't rip your hands up in the process-

by the way, +1 for the KVD sticks from me as well-

Lots of people plug lots of stuff here that's not even their own, so no harm in sharing the word about your wife's soap creation.

Thanks for the info!

P.S. If we like it, we could even put it on our jerseys!

Thanks Champ.

I keep telling her if it takes off she's buying me a new Basscat and I'm wrapping it in a Mrs. B's wrap.

I'm really proud of her stuff. I've never given soap a second thought, just bought dial or used whatever the hotel had when I was on the road a lot. When I finally got around to trying her soap, (months after she started making it) it really did feel better. She knows the science, I don't, but I guess there are a lot of silly man-made chemicals in store bought soap that she doesn't use in hers. I do know my skin does feel cleaner and like there isn't any residue left on it, and it really has helped our son's excema.

I remember the old Fish Formula very well, including the sparkle scales variety. Pretty much mineral oil with sweet anise oil for scent.

By the way mixermarkb, the consensus is that you certainly smell better since switching to your wife's soap.:lol:

p.s.

She makes a soap for me called "fishing buddy" that has Anise Oil in it as its only scent.  I won't make any claims as to wether or not it helps, but it smells good and doesn't seem to hurt.

Anyone remember the old fish formula? With sparkle scales???

Wait...you are married to a capitalist?

Just funnin'.
