bobby b. Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Fished the darn area from 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 am today. Water temp was 70 deg. and starting to clear but North Indian got brown again after the recent rains. Caught 10 SM and one Spot - all keepers but one, all off of a single main lake point in about 4-6 fow. Fish were 3 - 3.5 lbs., except for the one short Used a 4 inch pearl Swim Shad. The fish turned off about 7:30 a.m. so I backed out to deeper water and could see them on the graph suspended at about 8 fow. and they were feeding big time all around me but I could not get bit after 7:30. I threw swimbaits, WP, spinnerbait, shad crankbait, and even the Ned and a tube bait. The question - What could have been done to get bit after 7:30 since the fish were obviously still feeding? Thanks Bobby PS - Recall I'm still kinda new toTR. Diamond City Fisher 1
Sprint21fter Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Sometimes the fish are so keyed up on bait that its hard to get them to bite artificial lures. You did what any of us would have done, backed out and try other techniques that is all you can do.
dtrs5kprs Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Might have gotten picky about size. That's a place for a spoon. bluebasser86 and dan hufferd 2
OldMillRoad Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Not that I know anything, but I might have thrown a jerker or a fluke.

That's what I was thinking, smaller flutter spoon, but fish it horizontally, cast out, let it sink a bit, work it back to the boat. Or I would try swimming a Keitech. But, getting 10 nice keeper sized smallies, well that is not a bad day. mixermarkb, dtrs5kprs and bluebasser86 3

Getting harder to find the gray ones. Jug and Plug used to have them. Hughesy and mixermarkb 2
