Daryk Campbell Sr Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Going to go on a float trip this weekend with a whole lot of drinkers. I plan on wetting a line, but don't really expect to catch much as it will be near 100 degrees. Planning on using a spinning outfit. What would you use? Never been on the current, and will not be keeping anything. I am as happy to catch rough fish as I am a 7 lb bass. Using Eminence Canoes and Cabins for the float. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. Gavin Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 You should be able to catch some smallmouth if you are staying in Eminence. Usual suspects should work...Small brown or olive plastics on the bottom, or Zoom Flukes, walk the dog plug, etc. Daryk Campbell Sr and evilcatfish 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Can't go wrong with marabou jigs and some plastic stick baits.
Al Agnew Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 The heat doesn't bother smallmouth and other fish on a river like the Current. Of course, what does bother them, even though they are used to it (or maybe it just bothers the fisherman, especially me) is the hordes of people that will be on the river. evilcatfish and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

Gavin Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Zoom Fluke or similar. Usually rig them weedless on a 4/0 EWG worm hook or a circle hook or octopus with a weed guard and nose hook them. Daryk Campbell Sr 1

joeD Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Think about casting (whatever you are using) right above riffles, in the riffles, and the pour offs just below the riffles. Temperature and drinking buddies are irrelevant. Of course, I assume you will have necessary provisions yourself, so as not to rely on your buddies to slake your alcoholic thirst. If you are not drinking, then, .....hmmm......hmmmm..... ....drawing a blank here.......hmmm...... Good luck fishing! Greasy B and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 I plan on being with the crowd everyone complains about while floating. I will be partaking in the party atmosphere. No kids, so we can let our guard down. I will be trying to catch a fish, while hollering for another beer. Lol. No, I will be responsible, and kind as I always am. I will enjoy a few cold ones, and hopefully I will have a few pictures to share.
