Boating season (How do you avoid the crowds on your local lake?)

Boy you ain't kiddin Champ.  Been playing since I was a few years old and I've all but quit.  I'm 55.  I used to log 120 rounds a year.  I played in two scrambles this year and that's it.  I only played in those to get out of the office for a work event.  My regular course refused to talk to anyone about slow play because they might get mad and not come back.  But with that they are losing guys like me.  I saw my buddies from the Saturday skins game that used to have 20 -25 players.  This year they are lucky to get 8.

The brother and I never tee off before 3PM. Never have to wait on slow play and often have the whole course to ourselves. It's well worth having a late dinner. This afternoon/evening will be soggy but I'll bet we own the course.

On weekends We typically bounce from Dardenne links, GC of whentkzville and country lakes out in Warrenton, whoever shows  the most available tee times on line. The sun just came out things are looking up.

I see more drunken idiots on the golf course than the lake.  Nothing worse than a five hour round behind a bunch of idiots with a radio blasting.  I've all but quit the game.

Yep, but they're not driving a big go-fast boat.  Somewhat safer for us.

Truth. It baffles me that they can't see that for every slow-playing, inconsiderate jackwagon they're afraid to run off, they're losing 3 or more quality customers/members.

I'm not advocating playing "polo" golf. I'm serious about my game and I'm gonna take time to consider my options, read my putts, etc. But I can still play a comfortable round of golf in 4 hours or under.
