I sure would like to get down there and fish that lake.

It fishes good in the fall probably through December, but it really shines in the Spring. Do yourself a favor though and don't go too early. There can be GREAT trips in Feb, but you better leave that for the locals. Weather can absolutely give them lockjaw after a cold front.

Late March or early April around a Full Moon is the deal. Just hope and pray for good weather and be willing to trailer to the closest launch if the wind gets up. There isn't a boat big enough to be safe on TB when a north wind gets up.

Looks like the first week of May, at least this year when they had that tourney, would also be a good time to go.  What was neat was that fish were being caught with several methods - top water, fishing deep diving cranks, swimmers, or going shallow and flipping jigs and plastics.

I have had an INCREDIBLE trip the first week of May one year BUT the key do a good bite in May is that the lake needs to be high. Normal pool is 172. IF you have a water level of 168, those fish are likely going to head offshore as soon as they are done shallow. You fish TR so maybe the fish going offshore wont be an issue to you. IF you have a level of 174, stay shallow all day.

IF you decide to go, give me a call and we can talk TB.

If you come to Toledo Bend, you might consider the period leading up to the full moon in March.  The Hausen Bay/Six Mile areas produce a lot of the double digit fish.  Each one is a huge creek system, and they are close together.  You can stay in either one or both for your entire trip, and never run out of places to fish.  Beyond that, they offer protection from high winds.  You don't want to be on the main lake when it's really blowing.  Nothing on Table Rock compares.

I second what DavidB says. We are there every weekend and it is a tough place to navigate in 15+ mph winds. You could stay at fin and feather That is located on the southern end on the tx side in Hausen Bay. Van Dam caught the majority of his big fish in Pirates Cove on the southern end on the LA side. Holler if y'all have any questions

Got that right. Combination of immigration failures and the anti-vax crowd are likely to have us all dead from previously eradicated diseases.
