MOsmallies Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 I showed my father-in-law the ned rig about a year ago but it wasn't until our family vacation to Black River Lodge a couple weeks ago that he really fell in love with it. My brother-in-law and nephew were also amazed at its effectiveness on the river smallmouth so I told them I'd make them up ned rig kits when we got home. They all fished minnows almost exclusively for the last 40 years and now they've gone as far to say that they think the ned might be better than live bait. I took advantage of Tackle Warehouse's 4th of July sale and ordered 3 bags each of my 4 favorite colored ZinkerZ's.... A bunch of 1/16th and 1/8th oz. jigheads from Dave and a bottle of Loctite super gel later I think they should each be set for a while... magicwormman, abkeenan, Mitch f and 6 others 9
Stump bumper Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 I hope that is a worm proof box, I had mine in the wrong box and all those Z-man plastics turned to goop. I don't take chnces now and keep them in the wrapper they come in.

I thought it was just normal plastisol that it didn't mix well with
DADAKOTA Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Very nice Ned Box. Let me know when I should provide you my address. I put together some crappie boxes several years back for my Dad, Son, and Nephew. Kept them from raiding my boxes until they needed to re-stock. MOsmallies 1
Quillback Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Wow, that is very nicely organized. I fall short of those standards, I have a little Plano pocket sized box I keep them in. I glue mine on at home, I don't trust myself and super glue when out on the lake. I'm on my 2nd Plano box for Neds, and need to get another one to replace the current one I am using. The outside corners of the box start curling up and it won't close. I believe it is from long time contact with Elaztech. Not a big deal as it is a cheap box. crazy4fishin and dtrs5kprs 2

Members KCFinesse Posted July 14, 2016 Members Posted July 14, 2016 My dad had a very similar reaction to fishing the Ned for the first time. Your kit puts the emergency pb&j care package I sent him home with to shame. I've always been a little scared off by the combination of Plano boxes and Ned rigs. I've gooped a lot of neds on my boat whether letting them get too hot or accidently mixing with regular plastics. This has got me thinking though. -Jared
