BilletHead Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Me too Wrench, Might not be too popular for some of us thinking that way though. Trout non native/striper non native flip a coin and let the strongest survive I suppose. All it takes is one time tangling with a hot temperate bass.....And they'll be trading those 4's and 5's for 7's and 8's real quick. ? BilletHead and Johnsfolly 2
rps Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 You have to remember the Arkansas record striper that Jeff Fletcher caught had migrated down from Beaver and was feeding on the rainbows below the Beaver dam. My largest walleye came from the flats just below the trout water. BilletHead and Johnsfolly 2

My, my yes for sure. Even a ten to chuck those meaty flies. 8 minutes ago, rps said: You have to remember the Arkansas record striper that Jeff Fletcher caught had migrated down from Beaver and was feeding on the rainbows below the Beaver dam. Actually like most on here I like trout also. So I would like both to make it. For us to catch and stripers to feast on making them giants, BilletHead Johnsfolly 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" fishinwrench Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 A striper is going to have a much easier life cruising the lake and gulping shad than he is chasing down rainbows in the river. I don't expect the trout population will take too hard of a hit. Johnsfolly 1

Remember how freaked out folks got when not too many years ago some of those striped fish got stuck in the trout holes up river? I remember and everyone was concerned and wanted them killed out. Catch and release for trout and catch and kill for stripers . Temperate lives matter! fishinwrench Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Oh no doubt they'll eat some. And for some folks ONE is too many.
Johnsfolly Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Just means that Billethead will have to tie articulated baits in a rainbow trout pattern to fish the striper spawn. You know that the large brown trout in the river are already eating rainbows. BilletHead 1
Members Okiedog Posted August 26, 2018 Members Posted August 26, 2018 just so people know.. that person that died was a 13 year old girl who was trapped in the turbulence created by the hole in the darn, created from the flood around 15'. my daughter went to school with her. That little girl, yes she was small for her age, swam out to help someone else that was trapped in it and in the course of trying to HELP ANOTHER PERSON, died in the process. A full grown man was pulling on her as hard as he could and couldnt budge the poor girl. The hole should have been fixed or the darn tore out once the hole was created. A quick look and one cold see that it was dangerous, and right next to a swimming hole, and canoers would get in trouble there every day. Pretty crappy for people on here to just willy-nilly throw rocks at the situation. Someones child died there.
tjm Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Not to take away from the value of that child, but, Quote According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, between 2006 and 2010 a total of 303 children under age 5 years old drown in just bathtubs You may not realize this , but every single person that ever died was someone's child. It turns out that death is part of life, it will happen to us all.
