Good job!

Yeah as far as I can tell the Whites are the best bite going on the lake right now.  I haven't done any crappie fishing because I'm still stocked with Crappie fillets from Spring (I need to eat some of those!) but from what I hear you have to work your way through a bunch of little ones to get a few slabs.

The shallow LM bite is steady but I'm not finding many good ones. Lots of short fish with the occasional keeper. And the recent derby weights indicate that pretty much everyone else is having the same results.  A good rain would be welcome.

lown the gravois it is not any better my friend.  I think we will see a short hot streak about the time we hit 60 degrees. I can catch 4-5 small crappie real fast about anytime i go down to the dock. mostly on 1/32 oz jigs rabbit fur or pure tinsel jigs tipped with crappe candy. I been fishing them straight down.

Well crappie fishing was pretty lame but did find some whites/hybrids and a bonus 20 inch walleye.  3 of us and I think there were 3 crappie and the walleye, and 28 white/hybrids.

Well today was a repeat of yesterday, with one other buddy who couldn't make it yesterday.  No bonus wally today, just 31 more white/hybrids.  a couple of good ones.  wind had switched but was actually hitting the bank better.  we were doubled and occasionally tripled up almost had a quadruple once.  that area dried up and we picked up a few more scattered ones and was back home by dark.  kept enough for a good cajun fish grilling and sent the rest with my buddies.  White, chartreuse didn't matter mostly Bobby Garland baby shads, as long as it was right up against the bank it was golden.  Even had some leftovers for lunch, had grilled a 5lb pork loin last night, ribbed down with Famous Daves rib rub, and basted with coke, soy and a little liquid smoke, came off the grill perfect, and made a wonderful lunch on the water.  Friends, fish, food, good times fellers, good times.  now my wife can go shoOT some deer tomorrow while I sit in the recliner coughing and hacking, listenine for her rifle shot and thinking about the drag screaming as I tried to turn the biggest hybrid back toward the boat.  also had a few of what appeared to be pure strilers, long lean with solid lines and fought like they were 3 times their size.   Are there pure stripers stocked in LOZ?

Yes, but they are recently stocked(the last few years) by the look of them and all in the 12-15" range.  Years ago(20+) they were regularly stocked but until this year it had been that long since I had caught any.

Very nice bunch of fish. Not looking for specific places I was just wondering where you were catching them on points on the main lake or in the creeks in the back of coves. I found some Wednesday way in the back of a cove in three or 4 foot of water but nothing like that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Back in a cove.  water toward the main lake was murky, cleared up 3/4 back, wind Saturday was hitting a small bluff at an angle where we caught a few, including the walleye, at the end it was hitting a small point and rolling on down and back into a cove, the area was absolutely loaded with shad.  the point and 4p yards or so either way were solid gold.  most fish hit right at the bank, as in drop the jig on dry land and slip it back in, usually within 2 or 4 feet of bank.  Some just ticked it like a crappie and some tried to rip the rod out of your hand.  the few larger ones seemed to hit about half way back to boat or a couple hit right at the boat, scare you half to death as they slam it as you are about to lift it out of the water.  thought maybe rattle traps would rule too but nothing on them.  Thursday was late afternoon, Friday it was mid morning.

I am going to be netting some more shad next week. I do not take many. Maybe 20. Looking  for some about 3 inches. going to use them on a spoon for hybrids. Hooe it works  better than last time.
