FYI, Representative Long recently purchased a Lake-front home down off of Hwy. "H" West of Lampe.  Our problems with ACOE and lake use and abuse now affect him too.  The dock issue needs to be addressed as does the duplicity and usual lies of the Tri-Lakes Board of Realtors and their B.S. website that suckered many of us into signing. 

Here's a suggestion...:

1.) Leave the Vegetative Modification Permit regulations stand as currently stated and quit messing with it. Changing it now screws every property owner that bought based on present conditions and you wouldn't want it happening at your home.  

2.) All the unused and unsold empty slips we always see in existing "Community docks" must be filled before any more dock permits will be issued only to have those slips sit empty while the "dock speculators" search/wait for new suckers.   There has to be some language in the Shoreline management Plan to forever stop these "Dock Speculators" from acquiring dock permits to place new docks and then re-selling slips in them at incredible prices. 

3.) An immediate "length-limit" must be placed by the ACOE on new boats seeking to use Table Rock.  If there are some "wake-height" and "Plowing" ( I guess that means deliberately creating massive wakes ? ) restrictions on boats on LOZ they need to be immediately implemented here and much stronger ( more Patrolmen) enforcement enacted.  Same goes for engine decibel enforcement...sounds like a flight of WWII four engine Bombers now when these multi-engine monstrosities go zooming by.

4.) Your tax dollars and fishing permit dollars were recently spent awarding a Commercial Dock Owner $100,000 for building facilities for ginormous docking and pump-out of these "Battleships in a Bathtub" we are seeing.  All that does is encourage more and more larger boats.  No more tax money as awards for providing huge docking spaces....what is/are here now is the end of it.  http://maricorpus.com/cmp-big-recipient/

#4 is one of the craziest things I have ever read.  Unbelievable.  Or it would be if I didn't understand how loudly money talks.

A perfect example is in Buzzard on the James.  The two "community/association" docks have closed off Buzzard at the mouth (fantastic spring banks).  I was just there a week ago and the dock on the right has 3 boats in the 12 stall and the dock on the opposite side has 4 boats in the 12 stall. For those keeping track 7 boats/24 stalls.  I was told that one of the docks....... the gentleman had bought cheap used boats for his friends had them register them.... then put his friends in the "association" so he could justify the need for a community/association dock. 

It is suspect that Billy Long recently buys a home on TR and suddenly decides that the COE is wrong for trying to protect TR by limiting docks. Follow the money on this one.  I have written all three, $$$Blunt, $$McCaskill and $Long asking them to protect TR from becoming another LOZ.. Like I've said earlier.... to say nothing, says everything.

I will still be the odd man out on the MDC grant for the marine sewage pump out dock at Campbell Point.  MDC provided part of the funding, USFWS provided some, Campbell point marina ponied up some I believe.  it is a service that is needed on the lakes and the grants are out there to used for that.  MDC is doing their part to handle the grant applications and be the delivery vehicle, and keeping with the theme of protecting state waters.  I wish more state waters would host marine pump out stations, the boats with septic holding tanks are already out there, and the alternative is they will dump their tanks back in a cove out of site or while cruising down the lake.

Pump out facilities are one thing.  Big slips are another altogether.  24 to be exact at the Campbell Point Marina, unless my reading comprehension skills are now lacking.

Sorry you are correct sir, I was think it was a different grant for marine sewage.  This one appears to be essentially a grant to build new docks.  Money from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, seems to be what is funding it, with some matching funds from the owner and other agencies.  On that point I can agree with you, not sure I like the idea of any grant/tax/etc. funding the addition of dock stalls regardless of whether or not they are for large boats.  Business and need or demand drive the enlargement process, although I honestly can't fault the Campbell Point Owners for finding a funding source that is out there.  many of the groups who have grant money to use, will recruit people to apply for the grants and funding. Again sorry I was completely on a different track for a while.
