Smalls21 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 It is time to upgrade my NED reel ! currently using a ABU cardinal, it has served it's purpose but I feel it's time to step up a little bit. I do not want to spend over $100. Any suggestions
jpb2187 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I'd recommend the following... 1. Daiwa Ballistic EX 2500 https://www.walmart.com/ip/40179463?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227028143870&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=46539869792&wl4=pla-90989024192&wl5=9022803&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=40179463&wl13=&veh=sem 2. Shimano Stradic CI4+ STCI43000FA , (on sale at TW now) http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Shimano_Stradic_CI4_Spinning_Reels/descpage-SSCI.html 3. If you don't want to go over $100, this is a great reel too. Daiwa Exceler, http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_Exceler_Spinning_Reels/descpage-EXE.html

I do want to spend over $100. Any suggestions I have Daiwa and Pflueger spinning reels. I have the Pflueger MGX Supreme and it's a nice reel. That being said I think Daiwa is just knocking everything out of the park these days with both baitcasters and spinning reels. Babler is on the water around 250 days out of the year so I tend to listen to just about anything he has to say in regards to performance and durability of gear. I know he is a fan of the Daiwa Procyon which can be had new on Ebay for $106.99. They sell for $150 at Tackle Whorehouse. If I were getting a new spinning reel that would be it. Dave (where you at DAVE!?) I know is a fan of the Daiwa Exceler. That can be had for less than your budget at around 50-60 bucks new on Ebay. magicwormman 1
dwiebenga Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I have a Shimano Symetre on the Buy Sell Trade....It is in good shape, and I used it for that very purpose.
Smalls21 Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 has anyone used any of the Lew's spinning reels? looking at the mach 1 and mach 2

Macsimus Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Tried a Daiwa Fuego 2500 this summer and I'm very happy with it. It replaced a Shimano Symetre which I was very unhappy with. I've used the Symetres for years but the one I got had an anti-back reel switch that was so small I couldn't find it, especially during the heat of battle, and the bail would intermittently not close after only 2 months of use. Members cmoore03 Posted December 14, 2016 Members Posted December 14, 2016 I have been most pleased with my Cardinal 3's for over 35 years, never thought about trading up as these have been flawless. CM
