      Uh oh ,

You telling me wrench that their may be more one shot offspring out there?

We may not know where they are or how many but they are there and we all might personally know them. I will never forget that post and tread lightly wondering who on this forum could be kinfolk.  Mink and otter hating proponents of wild hogs running among us.

BilletHead thinks this thread should lighten up some. While not agreeing with everything MDC does we are pretty lucky to have them. Pretty easy to deal with general overall rules. We have fished places where in one drainage that was broke down in three or four sets of rules. Needed to be a lawyer to understand them.

You really think that was MDC's choice. You act like every government agency has full control over how their budget is spent. They don't. You don't like the way they operate then talk to your state representatives. You know the ones that actually make these rules. It's like arguing with a stocker in Walmart for what they charge in products.

BS.  I seriously doubt that MDC was forced to do that.  And if they were then it should have been voted on.    The state reps (some of them) are the ones that were wanting their budget cut, so I have a hard time believing that they initiated that little manuever.

They have a choice on how their money is spent, and on whose permits get suspended.  What makes you think they don't?

Oh it's lighter than it might appear.

Yeah I enjoy the stuff MDC has provided.   I also enjoy the gas that I'm "lucky enough" to have in my truck.   Nevermind that I overpaid for it, I still should feel lucky to have some.

Funny, and convenient for the government, how some brains have become conditioned to operate.   I want to love and respect them, I really do.....But I have this independent thought thing going on.

If we all thought the same Wrench it would be a dull boring world. That and we would not have anyone to talk about.

No it wouldn't, it would be a literal paradise. ?

Oh how I wish I could operate in the same fashion.  I'd be filthy stinkin' rich, no cuts, scars, or bruises, and nobody's boats would leave my shop running any different than they did when they came in. My customers would buy me a fresh new truck everytime the tires got bald, and anytime someone complained about it Chief would tell them what a complete moron they are and threaten to slander them.  What a glorious life I would have.  ?

They do on a federal level. I think at State Levels as well. It is not really rules. The US Constitution states congress will make the budget.States are modeled after the federal. you do not move things all over the place at will. it is illegal activity though it is done   at lows pending levels

our not even suppose to move anything from one category to another. if our dear leaders enact something that effects you you got to go thru the whole budget process n  detail to get money to do that. the problem comes at the other end when people start calling some by evasive or plain calling some red black and using the black money to get it.

thank God they are trying to restore the pallid sturgeon.  Those things will smash a buzz bait.  Does anyone even know what a pallid sturgeon is, or ever seen one, or care if they are around or not?  When I worked for the Corps of Engineers, I saw exactly how much money is spent on this "effort"  Still sickening to think about.

Wrong.  There's no hatred, I just think that with the amount of money they have at their disposal they manage it poorly.  I'm allowed to have an opinion on that because I pay taxes and buy all of their required permits. And I also (as well as many others) spend a fair amount of my own time helping to improve/maintain MDC property, as well as other areas outside the MDC boundaries.  I don't even get thanked, much less paid for it like they do.  So if they wanna claim that I am ALSO a slacker with jacked up priorities.....Fire away!   I'm prepared to argue that for sure.

For crying out loud man, the MDC has suspended my hunting/fishing license before for being late on child support.   You wanna claim, like them, that I was a deadbeat dad that shouldn't be allowed to fish because I was in a financial bind?  Why do they do that?  They aren't forced to do that, they choose to do that for some BS reason. As if child support enforcement needs their assistance.....Gimme a break!  They claim that they want kids to fish......But ONLY if daddy is paying mommy enough money.   Wow!

That's all great. Believe what you want. But when the favor is returned, you shouldnt get all butt hurt over it.

I don't know anything about you missing a payment. So don't say I called you a deadbeat and it's some BS reason they do it. It shouldnt have to be explained to you why you should take responsibility of your responsibilities. Spin how ever you want though. That's all you ever do. Spin it to where you are always the victim of the big bad government. Yeah Wow!

Back in the '80's MDC traded Louisiana Turkeys for Otters was turning them lose. I asked how soon we would be able to Trap them? Oh they will never get to Trapping numbers they are just a novelty.

I use to Frog several Ponds in this area. Now at nights you will  not hear a single Frog but see where Otters have been all around the Ponds. Yes I was fishing at Barclay when I seen 4 Otters just having fun killing fish in the hole just below the riffle.

You want to see Otters at Bennett Spring State Park be there when it is flooding, they will come out of their holes and be all over the park.
