I guess you can please some of the people some of the time, and some none of the time.  As I read the article I thought it said "currently" no facilities.  It seems that we complained when they opened Echo Bluff that it went too far.  I do not care what they name it, as previously stated that is just politics and it seems we have a Conservation area named for everyone who was ever on the Conservation Commission.

In any case as long as DNR is buying from willing sellers and not using condemnation to acquire land. As long as the remediation from the lead mining is not shorted I am all for it.

That man did more for conservation over the past half-decade+ than anyone I can remember.

That is to say, he kept our sometimes almost clinically insane state legislature from gutting the MDC and doing all kinds of fun things that would do plenty to harm our states natural resources and the day to day experiences of hunters and fisherman.

So this is fine. I'm also glad that I promptly moved two states over upon the conclusion of his term....and before the inauguration of, let's just say, a governor who is likely to be very different. A coincidence, but a happy one if 1/10th of what I'm expecting comes to pass.

Don't plan any treks out to the ole Jay Nixon Memorial, looks like it is closed because of some unknown hazards.

"It ain't even fit to hike".

Funny stuff there. Somebody wants to sell or barter that property someday, and they know it'll be harder to quickly unload if it gets named after some political figure.  That's my guess.

How can any piece of ground be unfit to hike?
