Sprint21fter Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Had a club tournament out if Lead Hill, water temp was 43.7-44.2. It was grind today. 8 Bites 5 keepers. 14.45lbs. Finished 2nd. 1st place was 17 lbs. We had the only 2 five fish limits that I saw out of 2 clubs fishing. All my fish was caught on the red rk, 1st place caught his on the A-rigs he had 7 keepers all day as according to him. 5.38 was big fish. I believe it was caught on a crankbait as well. Champ188 Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Good job of nearly keeping pace with the A-riggers. Just hard to beat them this time of year. Some of us are determined to keep trying, though. Wart 57, Daryk Campbell Sr, Hammer time and 3 others 6
m&m Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Sprint, good job. Nice pics of healthy fish. Mike
Sprint21fter Posted January 15, 2017 Author Posted January 15, 2017 I tried my hardest to win it cranking vs the chandelier but there were alot guys that threw it and didn't have much success either. Go with what you have confidence in and see what happens. I just can't figure the big bite out on that thing yet. I love cranking if there are enough fish up in the zone to catch em. Champ188 Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 That RK is a fish-catching dude. big c and Ham 2

Hammer time Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Interesting that tournament series always a-rig or any multi lure presentation. Almost tournament series and clubs have outlawed any multi lure presentation. I personally would like to see a statewide or national band on all a-rigs. Congradulations Sprint, that awesome that you took second against all those a-riggers, think about it, if was not allowed in that tournament, you're the winner! The a-rig is not allowed in our own Ozark Anglers tournament. I despise the a-rig, my opinion. Champ188, Wart 57, vernon and 1 other 4

You can see the sores from those A Rig bass that come in with 2 or 3 6/0 hooks stuck in there back or sides. Makes me sick ! Hammer time 1
Sprint21fter Posted January 15, 2017 Author Posted January 15, 2017 Thanks for the kind words hammer, I throw the A-rigs but can't break that 15lb mark using it. So, I fish something that is just as effective and I am confident throwing that I have caught several 15lbs and higher bags of fish. Hammer time and magicwormman 2
Hammer time Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Since the introduction of the a-rig, I personally know of 40 plus 6 pounders and larger that are hanging on walls all across SW Missouri. All taken from Table Rock. And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Everyone is scratching their heads, " where is all the big blacks at" A-rig is the culprit! The fish kill was in 99 and the lake recovered well in 5-8 years and we where catching 7's and 8's again. A- rig hit mass market in in 09 and everybody started catching tons of huge blacks that are now on walls. Largest black I've caught since was in 2010 night fishing a 7.43 and a buddy had a 7.11 a week later. Since then have not boated any bass over 7 lbs. Anyone who can cast relatively good enough, regardless of age or gender can chunk and wind that thing and catch a fish of a lifetime, and guess where they go, yep you got it, on their wall!
