jeb Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Anyone know of a brand of tackle box that will stand up to Zman baits? In my plano plastic boxes, they tend to warp the plastic dividers and make a mess of things. Was going to try some different brand box, but figured I'd ask y'all first. It will do that to all the boxes if you take them out of the bags. Takes a while. I do it anyway for my "quick box" of pre-cut and rigged baits. It's $5 spent on efficiency each year. I use tackle logic bags and a single compartment deep Plano to keep extra bags in the boat. vernon and magicwormman 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Dave, Would the hooks and baits hold up ok if I rig them and put them back into the original packaging?
gitnby Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I keep them rigged and in the original bag, but I don't stretch them out until I'm ready to use them. Stretching them releases the salt, which is the culprit for rusted hooks and messy plastic boxes. snagged in outlet 3 and Royal Blue 2
Royal Blue Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I bought a big binder that has pockets for jigheads too. That's the only thing I've figured out so far. Taking them out of the bag is a no no for me.

I've done that. Can't tell you it won't corrode a hook, but I haven't been bothered by it yet. Since switching to the beastly little Mustads, I haven't had any significant corrosion issues. Gamakatsus take it hard, and Owners are gone in a few days. Best tip is to not go full bore with any approach. Don't pre-rig all your heads, don't take all your bodies out of the bags. I usually have 2 of each size and color I plan to fish rigged, with another cut pair ready to rig. Not very many baits in play at one time. Royal Blue Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Dave, Do you still like cutting the Zinker or using the TRD better?
snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I've used both and now only use the TRD.
vernon Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I'm still a "cut" man and will remain so until The Godfather indicates otherwise!
