We had this wild redbud pop up in my wife's flower garden.

I put a treluce over it and keep trimming it back to the shape of the it.  The thing loves it.

I have a thing about trees growing next to my house, they get the kiss of death.

I did get some turnips planted, threw in some lettuce and spinach because why not.  Cukes and little maters are still going well and the wild flower patch.  Rest may have died from neglect.

        Thai pepper harvest,

One thing that did grow well in the BilletHead garden was Thai peppers. Picked a bunch this morning and they are now in the dehydrator. Will have this many more soon to dry again,

Got the Thai peppers dried. When cooled I will get them in a jar. Not real sure if I will grind up for my own chili powder or leave alone. Will decide after next harvest and drying,

Also today dug up some horseradish root. This bunch of plants are volunteer roots that were spillovers from my first planting in a planter. I just let them go three years. Needed some for todays dish and decided to dig one up,

Here are five more plants that will be dug maybe next month. They have grown so big they are interfering with container plants,

BilletHead has horseradish roots if anyone wants starts. Will mail to you free,

Tomatoes are still going strong now that they aren't eaten by squirrels. I'm sure they'd be producing even better back when it was a bit warmer but I'm getting a few tomatoes a day off of the plants.

The better boys have been real good but the brandywines, black prince, and golden jubilee's have been incredible tomatoes.

I have caterpillars the size of a bratwurst on my tomato plants.   What do those things morph into ?   A moth the size of a buzzard?

I plucked one off and it barked at me.  I got scared, dropped it and ran away.  They aren't friendly

               Ha,

They turn into one of two types of Big Moths. The Carolina Sphinx or the Five-Spotted Hawk Moth.  I too have had them "Bark" or squeak when you grab them. So not a Buzzard but a Hawk Wrench,

My little garden (5x20) has only 2 regular & 2 cherry tomato plants. They have been sorta slow until now. This is yesterday's crop.

An old farmer that is older than I am said to put hair in the hole when planting. He said the protein is good for them. I asked the wife to get a bag or two when she got her hair cut. Evidently it was not a first request

- they said every spring all the rural folks come in for hair fertilizer. I could see no change until lately if that really made any difference. This the first time I have not had the blight or cut worms.

Been watering every day because it is a raised bed.

Nice tho1mas,

May have to try that next season but it will not be from the hair on my head :) . I bet it is nice to still have producing plants this time of the year. Ours are long gone and the ones I see in gardens along the road have those green late season fruits that never turn red. Nice haul buddy,
