Johnsfolly Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 After the successful night last night, I was able to get out again at lunch today. The wind was whipping the water surface. I couldn't keep a bait in a good location. So no bites with the float. Did catch one crappie going without the float. Not the numbers that I was hoping for. The wind died some this evening and I got out with my daughter Olivia, aka Livie. Again I headed for the fish attractors that we could reach from the bank. We had a small wager, $1 for largest fish (could be luck) and $2 for most fish (more related to skill and luck). I had on the black and green 1/64 oz jig under my float and she was fishing a bumblebee black/yellow jig under her float. I caught the first fish, a white crappie on my first cast. Then another on my next cast and another of the following cast. Livie was struggling on getting a good cast and following drift with the slight wind and skirting the brush pile. I then caught a bluegill and three green sunfish including this chunky one, which was the biggest fish of the night. So at this point Livie has only caught one crappie at this time. So we switched spots and she started catching one crappie after another. I broke off and lost a lot of time retying. So she was catching up pretty quickly. Then it just became how many fish can we catch before we lost enough light to still see our floats. Livie caught 9 crappie. I ended up with 10 crappie, 3 green sunfish and one bluegill. So I ended up with the largest as well as the most fish. The joke was that no matter who lost the bet, we would have to ask mom for the $3 to pay the other person. The real win was getting out and catching some fish with my daughter. Hopefully we don't get the really strong winds this weekend and we can get after these crappie again. BilletHead Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Best three bucks Mrs. Folly has ever spent . Deadstream Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Probably would have paid twice that to keep Mr. Folly out of the house Johnsfolly and BilletHead 2
BilletHead Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 She even had enough time to have the locks changed. Reckon John would of had that smile like holding the green sunfish when he got home and couldn't get in the house? Johnsfolly Posted February 24, 2017 Author Posted February 24, 2017 Wow so this is how is its going to be. It's a good thing that that my betterhalf doesn't listen to you guys. Also I could always use the ladder to get into my bedroom window if she does change the locks. JestersHK, Follysbetterhalf and BilletHead 3
fishinwrench Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 So you think the bedroom is a safe place? How long you been married? ? Deadstream 1
JestersHK Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Nice Job John. Any time spent fishing with kiddos is a great time. Johnsfolly 1

BilletHead Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Boy this went sideways fast! Gee wiz John I figured with that big fish smile you had been spending extra time in that mentioned room . Maybe she would be changing the locks to keep you on the inside. A kept man, yes that is really the mystery answer. You have to sneak out for rest and fishing is the cover story, BilletHead is bored and having fun at John's expense this morning Follysbetterhalf, JestersHK and Johnsfolly 3 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" JestersHK Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 About this time of year with all the fishing talk going on my wife is ready to boot me out just so she doesn't have to listen to it anymore. I get my oldest kiddo in on it so we can team up on her! BilletHead and Johnsfolly 2
