fishinwrench Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 That is sacrelige! Ain't no reason for anyone from Missouri to be eatin' Vietnamese catfish. Champ188, vernon, magicwormman and 1 other 4
Members Wesley Posted March 12, 2017 Members Posted March 12, 2017 Flat Creek Inn in Cape Fair is the BEST restaurant in the area. From Kimberling city maybe 30 minutes. Eat there all the time. Sometimes a band on the weekends.
LD Fisher Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Steak Inns pork chops are fabulous! And very reasonably priced. I order the chops more than steak now.

BilletHead Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Just like farm raised shrimp from Asia they an be raised in sewer lagoons cheaply. Sold cheaply and Americans are of out of sight out of mind mentality. Non regulation over there in most places. Hot enough grease will kill the creepy crawlies but I am not sure it would do anything to toxins like heavy metals. Our resident lab technician Johns Folly might be able to weigh in on this? This is one of the reasons we try to be in control of what we can here in BilletHeadVille. We know we cannot have a hundred percent control but each percentage we can we do . Even if it means we take a life. Swimming, flying, walking or crawling. Guy said most of it came from there. when I was a kid one of my dads friends had a catfish farm. Big building full of tanks and pens out on his big pond for them to get eating size in. I loved that place because he didn't care if I when over to them in my float tube and caught a few.
fishinwrench Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Good grief. Can't this country produce anything for itself anymore ? Champ188 and magicwormman 2
Members JerryK Posted March 13, 2017 Members Posted March 13, 2017 Don't forget about Reeds Spring Pizza; Just a great place! magicwormman and lollygagger 2
Members lollygagger Posted March 13, 2017 Members Posted March 13, 2017 Reeds Spring Pizza is great.....parking w/a boat would be tough.....Also offers take and bake pizza and good salads.....Closed Sundays....Heard good things about Pizza By The Chef in the same strip mall with Mexican place on bus 13 just south of Lakeview. Gateway in Spokane is good breakfast and all you can eat catfish on Fridays but is a good 20 minutes north of KC....Place in Highlandville (another 10 minutes N) famous for fried pies......Papoulis N of Reeds Springs is good for Greek food and meatloaf......Don't eat the Sunday special and american food (except meatloaf) just my opinion, but think Sunday special is what didn't sell during the week...probably a rumor....South and East of Lakeview I don't frequent.....Neighbors Mill is good but involves driving to Springfield or Harrison AR and are closed Sunday......A tri tip from Harter House , some Pappys seasoning, a bottle of creamy Italian dressing and a bottle of red wine mixed to marinate a day or so then smoked or grilled over charcoal can't be beat. Have one of the butchers help you with directions... magicwormman 1
