Put in this morning about 8:15.  Crowded boat ramp.  Water color was ok, dingy.  Temp 55 most places.

Boats everywhere.  Most were snagging.  Some were looking for crappie.  A few bass fishermen.  Lots of running up and down the lake.

We started on pole timber in 15 to 24 foot of water.  Caught one here and there, all deep, nothing on the bank or suspended.  Didn't really try anything else.  Just steep banks and some brush.

And that's about all the report.  Slow.  Ended with 5 keeps and about as many shorts.  Quit at noon.

One guy fishing from the bank - on a steep bank - carried out his limit.  Said early was best- they were up closer to the surface until it got brighter out.  They had floats on their lines.

Wonder how many snakes he had in his boots, and ticks around his waist.

Thanks for the report Phil.  Your day sounds just like our day, we fished Long Creek area started out just before daylight and fished till 1 this afternoon and we only managed 3 keeper crappies.  Fish was very scattered today, catch one here and one there.  Very tough day for crappie today!!!!  It was the most boat traffic I have seen for awhile, boats everywhere!!!!

I wanted to go to Long Creek but the guy I went with is from Neosho and Bridgeport was on his way home.

Should have stayed home and fished for trout.  They bite all the time :)
