Bill Babler Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Talked Becky into going out for an hour yesterday evening as it was so nice. She did not fish but I caught 3 out of the tin can, all on a swimbait. Fish are really staging on windy banks in front of the big spawning coves. 15' to 25' seem to be just full of suspended and moving fish. Saw lots of bottom fish along with fish patrolling the bottom and really the entire water column. This most times means jerkbait time, but they seemed to still be on the swimmer. Did not drag a jig or a C-Rig, but I'm sure they would have eaten either. Water temps on the main lake were 57 to 59 and back in the pockets on the west bank up to 61. clarity is perhaps 10 ft. marcus, crazy4fishin, Champ188 and 4 others 7 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Still pretty clear given the rain and the rise.
abkeenan Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Still pretty clear given the rain and the rise. Yep. Dam area, as of this past weekend, hasn't seen the mud line flow from the rivers. There was a bit more green stain up towards KC (Cow & Spring) but from IP to 86 Bridge was clear. Some floating debris but it was minimal. Biggest floaters I saw was maybe a 3" diameter branch. No big, hull seeking missiles. Long Creek on the other hand looks like the Mississippi with less than 1 foot viz. Not like your tether would reach that far from the 13 Bridge anyhow. crazy4fishin, vernon, dtrs5kprs and 1 other 4
dtrs5kprs Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 You're not wrong about my authorized range of travel. It's been several years since we've had truly clear water around Kim City in the spring. Seems like we always have a green/brown color anymore, even without rain. mixermarkb 1

Put in at PB2 last night for a couple hours fishing and water was really clear and by the house at 28 mm water is as clear as I have seen it since I've lived here with a 4 foot visibility. mixermarkb and magicwormman 2

Still remember snagging an A-Rig on the bottom of 20 feet in Jacques Creek and could see it clear as day down there. That was the clearest I've ever seen TR since I've been coming down as a kid in the late 80's that I could recall. magicwormman and vernon 2
dtrs5kprs Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Clarity helps the TW bite. Or it does for me. magicwormman, WeekendWarrior and mixermarkb 3

In fact, that water color is the thing that blew me away the first time I ever traveled to Table Rock way back in 1975. After fishing nothing but big farm ponds up to that point in my life that green/blue tinge just looked so dang fishy! Still love it as much today as I did then. big c, abkeenan and magicwormman 3 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Seth Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 The first time I bass fished Table Rock was last year for the Cops for Kids tourney. I'd been reading on here about how the water around the darn was so "dirty". When we got to ramp and I could see 4', I thought to myself "What the heck are they talking about?". I guess it makes sense though since Taneycomo is usually really clear and it gets it water from Tablerock.

Bill, can I ask you a dumb question? How do you recognize spawning pockets or hat is a spawning cove? How do I find those places? Thanks
