I will say that even though it's a put and take fishery, a few we caught had been in there a while... Don't I get a counselation prize at least for the spring Creek trout?  Suckers were rare as hens teeth to find today lol

I wish I took some pics of indigenous species I saw last fall at the Roubidoux Spring.  We stopped on way back from LOZ and was watching some bait fishing Hispanics tossing into the spring boil.  Out came some bubbles and a diver followed by 2 more.  Funny sight, first feller came close to getting snagged by one of our south of the border interlopers.

And as always, camera and phone in the truck.

Your “Google Eye” looks like a Northern Rock Bass to me, but I will defer to the Pro.

I’m proud if you for getting out and catching fish. I wish I did so more often, but my life limits my fishing sometimes.

Sometimes but not often

The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check

Very likely a northern rock bass. I'm ok with most vernacular. So not bothered by goggle eye. Do have a tough time when all sunfish are called perch😌.

Well, since I grew up in Southern Louisiana , “Goggle Eye” = Warmouth ; Crappie = Sac Ca Lait ;  Drum = Gaspergoo ; Bowfin= Choupique ;  Red Ear = Chinqupin

i never got into calling Bass “Green Trout”, but I certainly did know ppl that reffered to that that way.

And since no one can pronounce JohnsFolly's scientific given name from his Father I now understand we call him by his OAF name :) ,

You guys kind of remind me of an old quail hunter from my younger years - when there were still quail.  His saying was "Signs fine, but it don't cook up worth a darn."  Only he didn't say darn.

Giving proper names to fish and animals is referenced in the bible.

"The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds in the sky, and to all of the wild animals." I just doing my part to make OAF guys use the right names😁.
