dtrs5kprs Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Hit it pretty hard today with the looming forecast. Fortunately the fish played along. Caught a tremendous number of solid keepers. Not monsters, but 16"-18" fish. Pushing hard on 20+, not including squeakers. Caught them all day, more or less regardless of water temp or color. Most of the fish were sitting on the bottom in 15' or so. But we also caught a few on the banks (blacks) and as deep as 30' (K's). Spots are relating to docks pretty consistently. Best deal was the 1/8 OFH with a cut Zinkerz on 6#. Mix of colors, everything from gp red flake to shad colors. Fish don't really seem to be eating anything. No sign of shad, craws, etc. Other than a few blacks on the bank of spawn coves, most of these fish have clearly not been near a bed yet. Hard to reconcile that with temps, but there it is. John managed his first keeper slam today. Cool deal. Something we should all enjoy, as it's just not available most places. Champ188, InPiney, fishinwrench and 19 others 22

I am also surprised by how few I've caught that appear to have spawned. I've only been fishing main lake but just keep thinking a big wave should have already happened. I've spotted very few beds and caught maybe two with the obvious beat up fins and skinny. I don't have a jersey or a sponsor. So don't listen to me, they've probably all spawned and I just missed it. Royal Blue, vernon, dtrs5kprs and 2 others 5 I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar
big c Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 We are seeing quite a few lg mouth behind docks in 10 ish foot. Bucks around the beds, running each other off. Then big momma will swim up, check it out and slowly swim off. Fun to watch. vernon, Donna G and Champ188 3

Those fish are starting to look familiar. mixermarkb, Donna G and vernon 3

abkeenan Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 The real question is....why do you have so many rods on the deck when you know you are only using maybe 2-3 fairy wand egg beaters? Champ188, vernon, mixermarkb and 1 other 4

Oh, I'm a tad more versatile than that. PTR128, abkeenan, magicwormman and 1 other 4
